This competency-based course is the second in a sequence of three designed for powerline technology. It provides students with project-based experiences in basic powerline theories and techniques. Technical instruction includes an introduction and reviews of resource management, trade mathematics, and employability skills. Emphasis is placed on beginning rigging techniques, material preparation and delivery distribution system construction, overall powerline system scheme, proper use and main-tenance of tools, basic pole climbing techniques, and initial preparation for industry examination. The competencies in this course are aligned with the California High School Academic Content Standards and the California Career Technical Education Model Curriculum Standards.
Enrollment requires successful completion of the Powerline Systems/1 (72-75-80) course.
