This competency-based course is the first of the three-series cosmetology training and offers a 400-hour course conducted under the rules and regulations issued by the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology (CSBBC). This course develops the skills needed to take and pass the license examination. Instruction includes state regulations and basic chemistry, electricity, bacteriology, anatomy, and physiology in cosmetology as well as health, safety, and sanitation issues. It focuses on wet and thermal hair styling; permanent waving; chemical straightening; haircutting; hair coloring and bleaching; manual, electrical, and chemical facials; eyebrow arching and hair removal; makeup, lash and brow tinting, and false eyelashes; and natural and artificial nails techniques. $910 / 400hrs
