It takes a structured chronological and thematic approach, beginning with victory in World War II and the post-war world in 1945. Topics covered include the expanding role of the federal government and courts, the maturation of a modern corporate economy, the impact of technology on society and culture, the movement toward equal rights for minorities and women, and the role of the United States as a major world power.
